Most brow appointments skip the first half. Someone glances at your brows, decides they are too heavy here and too thin there, and starts. The shape gets found on the way rather than decided up front.
Mapping is that missing step. Your brow is measured against the proportions of your own face — where it should start, where the arch should sit, where the tail should end — and marked before anything is shaped.
At Artistly it is booked as Eyebrows — shaping & mapping. It is $15, it takes 15 minutes, and it is done by Zahara.
What actually happens in the chair.

01
The map
Your brow is measured against your own features. The inner corner of the eye sets where it starts, the arch is placed against the eye, and the outer edge sets where the tail ends. Those points get marked, so you can see the shape before it exists.

02
You see it before anything happens
The map is shown to you first. Stronger arch, softer arch, more length at the tail — that gets changed while it is still a mark and not a decision.

03
The shape
The brow is then shaped to the line that was agreed. Fifteen minutes from start to finish.
The easiest thing to add on.
Fifteen minutes is short enough that it does not need its own trip across the city. Most people have their brows done at the end of something else — a cut, wash and style, a colour appointment, a treatment — while they are already sitting down.
Ask when you book and the 15 minutes gets built into your appointment. If you only decide once you are in the chair, ask then — whether it fits depends on what is in the book after you. The price is $15 either way.
It is worth the fifteen minutes. A cut changes your hair. A brow shape changes your eyes.
How often to come back.
Every three to four weeks is the usual rhythm once the shape is right, though it depends entirely on how fast your brows grow.
The first appointment is the one that does the work. After the shape has been mapped and set, later appointments are maintenance — following a line that already exists rather than deciding a new one every time.
If you are growing your brows out, or recovering from a shape you did not ask for, say so at the start. The right answer is sometimes to take almost nothing and let them fill in first.
Questions we get asked.
How much are eyebrows in Winnipeg at Artistly?
$15 at Artistly Salon & Spa, 567 St Anne's Rd Unit 2, Winnipeg. That is a flat price, not a starting price. One service, one artist, one number.
How long does an eyebrow appointment take?
15 minutes. It is booked as a 15-minute appointment and it is short enough to sit at the end of something else you are already in for.
What is brow mapping?
Measuring your brow against the proportions of your own face to decide the shape before any shaping happens. The start, the arch and the tail are placed against your features rather than copied from a trend, marked so you can see them, and agreed with you first. It is the half of a brow appointment most people have never actually had done.
Can I add it to another appointment?
Yes, and most people do. Ask when you book so the 15 minutes is built into your appointment. If you only decide once you are in the chair, ask then, and whether it fits depends on what is booked after you. It is $15 either way.
How often should I come back?
Every three to four weeks is the usual rhythm once the shape is right, but it depends entirely on how fast your brows grow. The first appointment is the one that does the work. After that you are maintaining a line that already exists.
Who does brows at Artistly?
Zahara, whose work at Artistly is hair, colour and brows. Brows are booked with her.
Do you take walk-ins?
We do take walk-ins, but please call 431-844-5500 first to check availability before coming in. Fifteen minutes fits into a gap more easily than most services, so a quick phone call is usually all it takes.
Brows at Artistly are done by Zahara, whose work is hair, colour and brows. She is who you book with for this one.
$15 is flat, not a starting point. Every service and price is listed on the booking page, and nothing is "price on request".
