Cut & Style · Winnipeg · St Vital

Women's haircutsin Winnipeg.

Cut, wash and style from $40. Shampoo and style from $38. Three stylists you book by name, seven days a week on St Anne's Rd.

A women's haircut here is booked as Haircut, Wash & Style. That is the whole appointment — the cut, the wash and the finish — 1 hour 30 minutes, from $40. You leave with it done, not damp.

If the shape is still right and you only want it to look finished, that is a different booking: Women's Shampoo & Style, 30 minutes from $38. Nothing is cut. Washed, blown out, finished.

Three stylists take women's cutting and styling — Zahara, Navpreet and Aman — and you choose which one. Zahara also does colour and brows, Aman also does colour, so a cut and a colour can sit inside one visit instead of two.

What actually happens in the chair.

  1. 01

We ask how you actually wear it

How much time you have in the morning, how often you use heat, whether it is tied up by ten anyway. A cut that only works when somebody else blow-dries it is not a cut that works.

  2. 02

    The cut

Shape, length, layers and weight, decided against your hair type and how it actually falls rather than against a photo. If what you brought in will not hold on your hair, you hear that before the first section comes down.

  3. 03

    Wash — and any treatment

Washed at the basin. If you have added a treatment to the booking — hydration from $45, keratin from $200 — this is where it goes on.

  4. 04

    The finish

Blown out and styled so you can see the shape doing what it is meant to do, and so you know how to get it back at home. Ask your stylist for the two-minute version — they will show you.

Cut and style, or shampoo and style?

Two different bookings, and they get mixed up constantly. The short version:

Women's Haircut, Wash & Style — from $40, 1 hour 30 minutes. The shape changes. Length, layers and weight are cut, then it is washed and finished. Book this when the cut has grown out, when the ends need taking off, or when you want something different.

Women's Shampoo & Style — from $38, 30 minutes. Nothing is cut. Washed, blown out, finished. Book this when the cut is fine and you want it to look done for an evening, an event or photographs.

If you are somewhere between the two, book the cut. It is $2 more and it holds an hour more of your stylist's time. The other way round is the booking that goes wrong.

Why this one, and not the fifty others.

"Women's haircut Winnipeg" is one of the most contested searches in the city, and almost every salon in it says the same four things about itself. So here is what is checkable instead.

The prices are published. $40 for a cut, wash and style. $38 for a shampoo and style. Listed on the booking page next to the stylist, before you call anyone.

You book a named stylist. Zahara, Navpreet or Aman — you choose, and that is the person holding your appointment. Not whoever happens to be free that day.

Seven days, Sunday included. Monday 10–7, Tuesday to Saturday 10–8, Sunday 10–6.

One location, and it is easy to reach. 567 St Anne's Rd, Unit 2, in St Vital — minutes from Southdale, Windsor Park, Island Lakes, Sage Creek and St Boniface.

None of that makes anyone the best salon in Winnipeg, and this page is not going to claim it. It makes the booking predictable, which is usually the part that goes wrong.

Questions we get asked.

How much is a women's haircut in Winnipeg?

A women's haircut, wash and style is from $40. A shampoo and style without a cut is from $38. Both are starting prices — length and thickness can move the final number — and your stylist confirms the price with you before any cutting starts.

How long does the appointment take?

Set aside 1 hour 30 minutes for a haircut, wash and style. A shampoo and style on its own is 30 minutes. If you are adding colour or a treatment, that time is added on top and held for you when you book, so nothing gets rushed at the end.

What is the difference between a cut and style and a shampoo and style?

A haircut, wash and style is a cut — shape, length, layers and weight are changed, then washed and finished. It is 1 hour 30 minutes from $40. A shampoo and style involves no cutting at all: washed, blown out and finished, 30 minutes from $38. Book the second one when the shape is fine and you want it to look done for an evening or an event.

Can I add colour or a treatment to the same appointment?

Yes, and it is better to say so when you book than to ask on the day. Colour and treatments are separate services with their own time — root touch-up from $70, full head colour from $100, balayage from $180, hydration treatment from $45, keratin from $200. Add them when you book, or call 431-844-5500 and the whole block of time is held for you.

Can I pick my stylist?

Yes. Women's cutting and styling is done by Zahara, Navpreet and Aman, and you choose which of them you are booking with rather than being given whoever is free that day. Zahara also does colour and brows and Aman also does colour, so either can take a cut and a colour in the same visit.

Do you take walk-ins?

We do take walk-ins, but please call 431-844-5500 first to check availability before coming in. A haircut, wash and style holds an hour and a half with a specific stylist, so it does not always fit a walk-in slot without notice. A shampoo and style is 30 minutes and is easier to fit in.

Who does this service

Women's cutting and styling is done by Zahara, whose focus is hair, colour and brows, alongside Navpreet and Aman. You choose your stylist when you book.

Prices are published

Every service and starting price is listed on the booking page. Nothing is "price on request", and your exact price is confirmed in the chair before work starts.
