Beards go grey before the hair on your head does, and they do it unevenly. A white patch on one side of the chin. A grey moustache sitting over a dark beard. A beard that is now two shades lighter than everything above it. It is the mismatch people notice, not the grey itself.
Beard Colouring sorts that out in 30 minutes for $20. Colour is matched, applied through the beard, processed and washed off. Done properly it should look like your beard — just the version of it you had a few years ago. Booked with RV, Noor, Zahara or Aman.
What actually happens in the chair.
-
01
The beard gets read against your hair
Where the grey is, how patchy it is, and how the beard compares to the hair on your head. That comparison is what the shade gets matched to — not a number on a tube.
-
02
The skin gets prepped
Beard colour sits against your face, so the skin along the beard line is protected before anything goes on. Done properly, nothing stains.
-
03
Colour on, and watched
Beard hair is coarse and takes colour faster than the hair on your head, so this is timed rather than left. It is the difference between a matched beard and a flat black one.

04
Washed off and finished
Rinsed, dried and checked in the mirror against your hair. If a beard trim is booked with it, the shaping happens around the colour so the lines are clean at the end.
Three reasons people book it.
Grey in the beard. Usually the moustache and the chin go first. Colour brings them back in line with the rest of the beard without touching the hair on your head.
Matching the beard to your hair. Common if you already colour your hair — the head goes darker, the beard stays where it was, and the two stop agreeing with each other. At $20 this is the cheap half of that job. The other half is men's hair colour, from $50.
Evening out patchy colour. Plenty of beards grow in two or three different shades, with lighter patches along the jaw or under the chin. Colour levels them so the beard reads as one thing instead of a map.
Questions we get asked.
How much is beard colouring in Winnipeg?
Beard colouring is $20 and takes 30 minutes. It is a flat price rather than a starting point, so that is the number you pay.
How long does beard colouring take?
Thirty minutes, start to finish. That covers matching the shade, protecting the skin along the beard line, applying the colour, processing it and washing it off.
Will it look dyed?
Not if the shade is matched properly and the timing is watched. Beard hair is coarse and grabs colour faster than head hair, which is exactly why a flat, jet-black beard is what happens when a box dye is left on too long at home. Matched to your own depth, it reads as your beard rather than a dyed one.
Can you colour the grey in my beard only?
Yes, and most bookings are exactly that — the grey through the moustache and chin brought back in line with the rest of the beard, with everything else left alone. Say so at the start and it is what you get.
Can I book it with a beard trim or a haircut?
Yes. Say so when you book and the slots are held together. A beard on its own is from $15 for 15 minutes, a men's haircut is from $35 for 30 minutes, and haircut and beard together is from $50 for 45 minutes. The $20 colour is added to whichever of those you are having.
Do you take walk-ins?
We do take walk-ins, but please call 431-844-5500 first to check availability before coming in. Beard colouring is a short 30-minute booking, so it is one of the easier services to fit in on the day — but a phone call still saves you the drive.
Beard colouring is done by RV, founder and lead artist, alongside Noor, Zahara and Aman. You choose your artist when you book.
Every service and price is listed on the booking page. Beard colouring is a flat $20, not "price on request", and nothing is added at the desk.
